About us
Ignite Martial Arts Academy can be located in Caloundra on the beautiful Sunshine Coast. The facility boasts elite instructor's in Brazilian juijitsu, Mixed Martial Arts, boxing, wrestling, strength & conditioning. Classes are carefully structured and follow our 'Elite51' system and cater to all skill levels for both adults and children.
Ignite Martial Arts Academy was established in 2004 by brothers Ryan and Leigh Dunstan. Ryan Dunstan received his Black belt in BJJ from ATOS Brisbane under Prof. Andre Galvao and Prof. Mota.
Leigh Dunstan received is Black belt in BJJ from ATOS Brisbane under Prof. Andre Galvao and Prof. Mota 2015. Our mission is to help you learn, grow and thrive to become the person you wish to become.
Meet our Team
Ryan is former Professional MMA athlete & current Head Coach of Ignite MMA. Ryan began his journey in 2004 as a coach and fighter competing between 2006-2012 across many weight divisions. Ryan received his Black belt in BJJ in 2015 under Prof Andre Galvao and Professor Antonio Mota. In 2025 he was awarded his 3rd degree.

Jamie is a 3 sport Professional combat sports athlete who has competed in MMA, Boxing & Muay Thai.
Jamie Started her journey in Muay Thai before transitioning to Boxing and MMA later in her career. Jamie won the first ever XFC Featherweight MMA Championship & went on to win Multiple Boxing titles in Australia.
Jamie is now signed to Invicta FC in America in her pursuit to become the next Featherweight World Champion.
